Farmer evan
Evan holds a J.D. with a specialization in environmental law from UCLA. He advocates for law and policy changes that support soil health, regenerative agriculture, and small-scale farming. Off the farm, he serves on the advisory board of UCLA Law's Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and is a research affiliate with the Resnick Center for Food Law and Policy. Evan is a passionate advocate, educator, speaker.
Evan’s love for farming began with urban gardening in his small backyard in Los Angeles while he attended law school. He learned how to utilize garden space by growing vertically, trellising plants, and maximizing square footage. These themes remain present at Ojai Roots where Evan’s goal is to sustainably produce as much high-quality produce as possible per square foot.
Evan's work on and off the farm promotes sustainable and resilient local food systems that reconnect people with the food they eat. He is excited to participate in the growing movement of regenerative farmers producing healthy food in ways that heal and improve our soils and the environment.
